AboyesMusic Absolutely love Aubrey Hodges take on Doom. It creates such a dark, dense atmosphere that fits the look and feel of the game perfectly. It's hard to play the PC version with those MIDI tracks after hearing this soundtrack.

noddybox The best video game soundtrack ever. Well, aside from Audrey's other ambient Hellish ones. I use this soundtrack when playing new DOOM ports to maintain that deep, dank atmosphere that DOOM deserves, and for that I thank you, Favorite track: Lamentation (Level - Mt. Erebus).
TheRazorBlade

TheRazorBlade A breathtaking twist to a well beloved videogame from my late teen age, and also my favourite version of it (the PSX version)...When I saw the soundtrack officialy released I just went for it. Favorite track: Sanity's Edge (Level - Toxin Refinery).

about

The Sony PlayStation version of Doom was a conversion of Doom and Doom II by Williams Entertainment. It was released on November 16, 1995 and is still considered one of the most unique versions of Doom to this day.

While the original Doom on the PC used a midi rock soundtrack this version is largely comprised of dark ambient soundscapes designed to enhance the suspense of the levels. The result is a dark and brooding score that combined with the imagery of the levels serves to unnerve and rattle the player. The audio and visuals work together to really define the hellish nightmare that is the world of Doom.
